Arriving at the 17th century Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou which is a striking example of the architecture of southern Morocco.

This Kasbah is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is still home to five families. It was once an important stop along the caravan route between Marrakech and the Sahara. It is also well known for being a set for many international films and TV shows, such as the “Game of Thrones”, “Laurence of Arabia”, and “Gladiator”.

After you visit Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou, you will have lunch in one of the local restaurants before you continue the journey towards Ouarzazate – “the Hollywood of Africa” with its beautiful landscapes that attract many world-class movie producers. Here, you have the option to visit the Atlas Film Studios, considered to be the largest film studio in the world. Located in an exotic, red desert scenery

Our drive will continue through the route of the thousand Kasbahs to the Kalaat M’gouna (the rose valley) which is known for its yearly Rose Festival in May and where pure rose water, lotion, and perfume are produced. Overnight in a hotel overlooking the valley and includes dinner, bed and breakfast.

Day 2: Dades Valley – Merzouga

After a delicious breakfast in your riad, you will start travelling towards the majestic Erg Chebbi dunes in the Sahara desert. Along the way, you will notice how different the scenery is compared to what you experienced on the first day of the trip.

Today, the scenery will be more like a rocky desert with its wonderful, old, muddy Berber villages and palmeraies providing you with many photographic opportunities. You will stop for a short hike in Todra Gorge; One of the most spectacular canyons in the world and the most popular rock climbing destination in Morocco.

After lunch in a local restaurant, we will continue our journey towards Erfoud, known as the fossils town, which is a great introduction to Moroccan archaeology. Here, you have the option to visit one of Erfoud’s fossil museums to learn about Moroccan fossils and the process they go through before locals use them to make items such as tables, plates, and more…

You will arrive in the Merzouga desert by the end of the afternoon. Your camel guide will have your camels ready to take you on an adventure into the golden dunes of Erg Chebbi (250 m). You will enjoy beautiful scenery, an amazing sunset and the peacefulness of the Sahara Desert before you reach your desert campsite. Overnight includes dinner, bed and breakfast.

Day 3: Merzouga – Fes

We would recommend waking up early in the morning to walk up the dunes to watch what might be the best sunrise of your life. After showering and breakfast in the camp, you will leave the Erg Chebbi dunes to embark on another adventurous day towards Fes via the breathtaking Ziz Valley; one of many oases that dot Morocco’s desert-like landscape, and the Middle Atlas mountains. You will be stopping for panoramic views along the way.

Lunch will be taken in Midelt (the Apple City) before we journey deep in the Middle-Atlas Mountains to Azrou; a Berber town with magnificent views of cedar and pine forests. Here, you will be able to see and hand-feed Barbary Macaque Monkeys living in the Cedar Forest, the largest forest in Morocco.

Our adventure continues to Ifrane, a town built in the 1930s by French Colonialists. It is tidy, modern, and feels more like Switzerland with its red-roofed houses, blooming flower beds and beautiful parks, all kept impeccably tidy.

You will arrive in Fes by the end of the day. Your driver will transfer you to your riad and bring your 3-day Marrakech to Fes desert tour to end.
